THIS IS NOT A TEMPLATE

This Is Context, Judgment, and Experience.

For years, students of Expert Witness Startup School have asked to see my expert witness contract.

Until now, I chose not to share it—not because it lacked value, but because a contract on its own is just words on paper. Language without context doesn’t explain tradeoffs, blind spots, or how contracts actually perform under real-world pressure.

Over time, my work has evolved.

After nearly a decade as an active expert witness—and years of teaching as the expert’s expert—my contract has been shaped by real cases, real billing issues, real depositions, real trials, and real scheduling conflicts. It has also been refined through significant investment in healthcare and business legal counsel.

The Expert Witness Contract Course exists to share that experience in a practical, educational way.

What This Program Is

This on-demand educational course walks you through my entire expert witness contract (and a bonus focused consulting agreement), section by section, using my own contract as an annotated example for learning purposes only.

YOU WILL SEE:

  • What clauses exist

  • Why they exist

  • What problems they are designed to solve

  • Where experts commonly get burned

  • Where flexibility is reasonable—and where it is not

ALL GROUNDED IN:

  • A decade as an expert witness work, retained in over 200 cases

  • Thousands of dollars invested in my own legal counsel

  • Years of refinement informed by real-world expert experience

You became a doctor to help others, but not to give at your own expense.

Medicine is still a great profession, where our daily work literally saves lives. But physicians are working harder than ever, often for lower pay, with increased educational debt and more administrative time burdens than ever.

You want to earn side gig income, but not build another business.

Let’s face it. If you just wanted to binge-watch a new TV series, you could do that for free. But if you have specific financial goals and want to make extra money without moonlighting nights/evenings/weekends, you’re looking for options to earn more while still valuing your free time.

You want to gain experience reviewing medicolegal cases but aren’t ready to jump into the deep end of the legal pool yet.

It took 4 years to complete medical school, then 3-7 more years of training to do your job. You’re legendary at learning, but you take things one step at a time. You’re also used to having a mentor who can show you the ropes and has walked a mile in your shoes. You like to experiment with new options but want to “try-before-you-buy.”

You want to launch an expert witness practice but don’t know how to get your first case.

Waiting for a lawyer to call out of the blue can be a frustrating experience when you’re ready to put your skills to work now! You want to build a network without burning out on marketing.

You’re a legal eagle expert, but you want to elevate your skills with more diverse work.

Even after years of being an expert, is most of your work still for plaintiff attorneys…because that’s who calls you? Do you wish more defense attorneys would call since it helps you develop sharper expert skills when you can see cases from different angles? What if there was yet another option to review cases and really train your brain?

ENROLL NOW

If you’re a physician or other licensed clinician and want to review medical board cases for extra cash, on your own time, you can apply your clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to medical board case review.

You can also supplement a thriving expert witness business by sharpening your skills in a new way.

No website? No lawyer database? No expert witness directory listing? No LLC?

No problem. Successful physician expert witnesses all get their start the same way…with just one case. Isn’t it time you joined other physicians who have learned how to supplement their income without the hassle and expense of starting a second career?

Jumpstart your expert career through medical board case review.

Dr. Green, a radiologist and expert witness retained in nearly 200 medical malpractice cases as an expert witness, has taught hundreds of physicians how to launch and build expert witness businesses.

It took her only ONE DAY to get her first case!

Are you ready to get your first medical case review?

And get paid, guilt-free, while giving back?

ENROLL IN MEDICAL CASE REVIEW MINICOURSE TODAY

Physicians are trained to believe our work IS service. That being paid to do our jobs should be treated as a privilege, not a right.

And in an economy where about 2/3 of physicians are now employees, many physicians believe there is no choice except to work harder and trade time for money to meet rising financial challenges.

Our work is incredibly valuable. But physician burnout is real, and the true cost is an accelerating loss of physicians from the workforce which ultimately hurts everyone.

Unless we understand the true value of our time, that being paid for our skills, training, and expertise IS an important measure of our worth, doing more for less just won’t feel worth it.

Instead, working a little more in the short term can actually be a big investment in your future.

Your first medical board case review opens the door to a world of opportunity. You can learn new critical thinking skills, using knowledge you already have as a physician.

By supporting your expert opinions with literature, consensus guidelines, and other resources, you immediately put that information to work in your own clinical practice.

Your hospital and/or practice can see you as an intellectual asset – someone they can come to as a resource.

And best of all, patients benefit from physicians who give better care by being informed. Even when it’s not easy to think about how things can go wrong in a job to which we have given our heart and soul.

By gaining an insider’s perspective, you can even help prevent potential medicolegal risk by learning from others’ mistakes. If you were ever sued, you can be a powerful advocate for yourself through your knowledge of the legal system.

You are the superhero everyone wants on their side!

But first, you will need to embrace expert witness work as a guilt-free way to get paid for your time, while giving back to the medical community and wider world around us.

You don’t have to have a lawyer database or a marketing strategy to get started reviewing medical board cases. (That’s where the one phone call part comes in…I’ll bet you know how to reach your state medical board already, but this course will teach you exactly what to do and say when you’re ready to make that call and get started!)

Here’s what Gretchen’s students have to say:

"Thank you, Gretchen, for this phenomenal education. I am confident and have an established game plan to move forward.”

- Matt, neuroradiologist in Gretchen’s Expert Witness Startup School course

"This course is an organized and systematic guide to starting and expanding into expert witness work.  Gretchen does a terrific job providing the context and resources to help those at every experience level.  Highly recommended."
